Voice on Android

Android doesn't have Siri Shortcuts, so Sortpen has its own voice button. Tap it, say the task, and it lands in your Inbox column. About 2 minutes in Chrome.

The quick wayBuilt into Sortpen. Nothing extra to install.

1

Install Sortpen from Chrome

2

Put "Sort it" on your home screen

3

Say your first task

Try it now

Another way: HTTP ShortcutsOptional. Uses the free HTTP Shortcuts app and your Sortpen key, like the iPhone setup.

1

Get HTTP Shortcuts

2

Make a "Task" text box

3

Point it at Sortpen

  1. Open your Sort it shortcut. Under Basic Request Settings, set Method to POST and URL to:
  2. Under Request Headers, add one header. Name: Authorization. Value: your key line:
Sign in, then come back here to copy your key line. It's also in the app under ⋯ → Siri.
  3. Under Request Body / Parameters, choose Custom Text with Content-Type application/json and enter:
    {"text": "task"}
Then select the word task inside the quotes and replace it with your task variable using the { } button.
4

Hear the answer, and add it to your home screen

Your key works like a password. Keep it to your own phone. If a phone is lost, replace the key in the app under ⋯ → Siri.

If it doesn't work

The mic button says voice isn't available.
Open Sortpen in Chrome. Other browsers may not support voice. You can always type, or use the mic on your keyboard.
"Allow the microphone…"
In Chrome, tap the icon left of the address, then Permissions → Microphone → Allow. On the installed app: long-press its icon, App info → Permissions.
HTTP Shortcuts shows "That key is not valid."
Copy the key line from this page again and paste it over the old header value.
HTTP Shortcuts shows "Please sign in."
The header is missing or misspelled. It must be named exactly Authorization.

On iPhone instead? Set up "Hey Siri, sort it".
